Ireland Immigration Crisis

On November 21, 2023, there was a knife attack outside Gaelscoil Cholaiste Mhuire Primary School, located in Dublin city. Five people were injured during the attack, including three young children, and two adults. The attacker was claimed to be an Irish citizen in their 40’s who had lived in the state for twenty years. The attacker came from Algeria and decided to move to Ireland in 2003.

Regarding the attacker and the injured. The attacker was not in the best condition as he has been in the hospital recently, getting a brain tumor removed, and interacting with mental help services. The attacker is the only suspect since no one else was around. One of the children got seriously injured and is in the hospital recovering. As soon as The Anti-Immigration Riot heard of what happened, they were not happy about this and planned to attack that evening.

Two hours later, rioters attacked Dublin’s City Center that evening with 200 protesters. Multiple buses, police vehicles, and trams were all smashed, burned, and smeared with graffiti. On the back of the buses, there were smears with the words, “Out.” The Centre in North Dublin was completely destroyed. After everything, 34 protesters were arrested on November 23.

Ireland’s own far-right community has been storing anti-immigrant sentiments in the country for years. Their community consists of anti-asylum Americans and Irish influencers.

Multi-millionaire MMA fighter Conor McGregor has become a vocal champion of the anti-immigration lobby. He took to X(Twitter) following the attack, blaming the coalition government. He tweeted, “you reap what you saw,”on X
