Woman Open Fires In Dallas Love Field Airport - Gets Shot By Police

On July 25, 2022, Portia Odufuwa was dropped off at Dallas Love Field Airport and opened fire with a handgun. The police inside the airport had shot her after she had fired several shots, and nobody else was injured. She has a criminal record, including a bank robbery, that makes her well known by local law enforcement. She is currently in custody at Parkland Hospital.

One witness reports hearing a woman yelling, thinking it was an announcement. The witness assumed it was an employee until the fires were shot. Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia says, "At this point, we don't know where the individual was aiming most now. From what we are seeing she was aiming at the ceiling"

Ashley Wycoff was standing just feet away from the shooter. She says, "The woman came and was like making an announcement saying somebody failed her husband or something and said, 'I'm about to blow this place up. All of a sudden, she brandished the gun and started 'Pop, pop' in the air. All I can do is run. I'm thinking I'm not from moving fast enough because I keep hearing shots like I'm gonna die in here."

Johnny Mojica told CNN he saw people running. "A group of people were running and shouting 'run,' and those who were sitting down (including me) took cover near the end of our seats," he said.

All traveler airport operations were suspended to evacuation for re-screening by security. However, according to the Transportation Security Administration, airport checkpoint operations resumed.

We await further news.
